Conference opens
Uncover the conference

The Petromass conference was originally conceived as a forum for the International scientific community, dedicated to the application of mass spectrometry in petrochemistry. Subsequently, its purview was expanded to include the employment of mass spectrometry in addressing analytical challenges within environmental and food chemistry as well as its biomedical applications. The conference is now convened quadrennially, having evolved into a global assembly that attracts leading experts from around the world. Petromass 2026 will continue its tradition of bringing together teachers, researchers, and industry professionals to share and discuss the latest advancements in the rapidly growing field of mass spectrometry.  With a diverse program of invited lectures, oral presentations, and poster exhibitions, Petromass 2026 aims to spark meaningful dialogue, promote innovative research, and drive impactful solutions for a sustainable future.

The conference venue, located in the heart of Yerevan - the capital of the Republic of Armenia, one of the oldest cities of the world with close to 3000 years history, provides the perfect setting for interaction, collaboration, and exchange of ideas. The location is ideal for an unforgettable trip, and we are excited to put together a truly outstanding scientific and social program.

So, welcome to Petromass 2026.

Classic Yerevan City Tour
Route: Downtown Yerevan loop
  • Cascade Complex: Giant limestone stairway and outdoor modern art gallery.
  • Matenadaran: The world-renowned institute of ancient manuscripts. Or Martiros Saryan Museum
  • Republic Square: The heart of the city with its famous pink tuff architecture.
  • Ararat Brandy Factory: Or Noy Ararat Brandy Factory.  A tour of the legendary aging cellars with a brandy tasting session. (extra option 5000-10000 AMD)
  • Lunch Option: Traditional banquet-style lunch at Megerian Carpet (dining among hand-woven rugs) or Pandok Yerevan.
The Classic Garni, Geghard Half-Day "Essentials" (4–5 Hours)
·  Stop 1: Charents Arch: A quick photo stop with the best panoramic view of Mount Ararat.
· Stop 2: Garni Temple: The only standing Greco-Roman pagan temple in the post-Soviet region (1st century AD).
· Stop 3: Geghard Monastery: A UNESCO World Heritage site featuring medieval churches partially carved directly into the mountain rock.
The "Culture & Flavor" Full-Day (6–7 Hours)
For a group of 80–100, with extra options
  • Symphony of Stones: After Garni, the group heads into the Azat River Gorge to see the massive basalt columns that resemble a church organ.
  • Lavash Baking Masterclass: This is a high-value activity for large groups. You can visit a local restaurant in Garni village where the group watches—and helps—bake traditional Armenian bread in a tonir (ground oven).
  • Traditional Group Lunch: Following the masterclass, a sit-down lunch featuring fresh lavash, local cheese, herbs, and Armenian BBQ (Khorovats).
The Classic Sevan-Dilijan Route
Duration: 9–10 Hours , including lunch
1. Lake Sevan & Sevanavank Monastery (9th Century)
The first major stop after leaving Yerevan. It serves as a great "introduction" to the scale of Armenia's landscape.
  • The Climb: Guests walk up the peninsula to visit the two churches: Surb Arakelots and Surb Astvatsatsin.
2. Dilijan: The "Switzerland of Armenia"
After crossing the Sevan-Dilijan tunnel, the landscape changes from rocky lake shores to dense, lush forests.
  • Old Dilijan (Sharambeyan Street): A beautifully restored 19th-century street. It’s perfect for a 30-minute stroll to see wood-carving workshops, ceramics, and traditional architecture.
  • Photo Op: The monument to the characters of the famous movie "Mimino" is a must-stop for classic group photos.
3. Haghartsin Monastery (10th–13th Century)
This is the architectural highlight of the north. It is tucked deep into the woods of the Dilijan National Park.
  • The Experience: The monastery complex includes three churches and a massive refectory. The "White Stone" architecture stands out beautifully against the green (or October gold) forest.
Extra options:
1. The "Lake Sevan Private Charter"
Instead of just walking to the monastery, you can organize a private boat trip for the whole group.
  • The Extra: Charter a large vessel (like the Cilicia replica or multiple modern motorboats) for a 30–40 minute cruise.
2. Spiritual Music at Haghartsin
Haghartsin is famous for its "Refectory," a medieval dining hall with incredible acoustics.
  • The Extra: Arrange for a professional Duduk player or a small A Cappella vocal quintet to perform for 15 minutes inside the stone halls.
3. The "Extreme" Addition (Dilijan Park)
For a younger or more corporate "team-building" group, you can add a stop at Lake Parz or VereV Rope Park.
  • The Extra: A 1-hour "Adventure Break" where guests can choose between a peaceful boat ride on Lake Parz or the zip-line/rope course at VereV (the longest rope park in Armenia).
  • The Benefit: It breaks up the "church-heavy" itinerary with some adrenaline and fresh air.
